Invenology’s WMSmart is a state of the art logistic business management solution focused on warehouse management and inventory control. The solution is distributed as an off-the-shelf product that is available for download off the internet.

How do I know if WMSmart is right for my business?

WMSmart is designed to meet the needs of the following business types:

How many people can use WMSmart?

WMSmart uses SQL Express for organizations that need up to 10 concurrent users. For more than ten users WMSmart uses MS SQL Server, which can handle up to 2,000 concurrent users.

Does WMSmart have all the functionality we expect in a WMS?

WMSmart is a full- featured, robust warehouse management system offering best of breed functionality in a standard package. WMSmart offers the functionality you expect in a best of breed WMS, including, for example, order directed put away and picking, extensive use of barcodes, warehouse locator, cross-docking, report writing capabilities via Crystal Reports, security controls, standard interfaces to material handling devices and external systems, and much, much more.

Is WMSmart available in languages other than English?

WMSmart version 2.00 is available only in English. However, WMSmart will be translated to many other languages. The current version supports Unicode.

Will we have to re-label existing locations if we implement WMSmart?

Most warehouses are able to use existing location schemes and avoid re-labeling since WMSmart allows you to determine the format of your location addresses.

Are there optional modules in WMSmart?

WMSmart’s basic structure is based on a modular concept. WMSmart includes several optional modules which can be purchased the initial license is purchased on/or at a later date.

How much does it cost?

How long will it take to install WMSmart?

Installation times vary due to the specifications of each computer. In general, client installation should take approximately 15 to 30 minutes and client/server installation up to 1 to 2 hours.

How is support provided?

Support is provided based on the specific needs of the service required. Please review our website for the Support package that best fits your needs.

Is WMSmart Scalable?

WMSmart’s scalability allows it to manage any warehouse/store size, and to deal with multiple warehouses, accounts, items, vendors and customers. With WMSmart you will have a powerful application that will keep all of your critical information in one place. You can generate timely reports that help you manage your business. Your customers can access information on product availability online and track their shipments. WMSmart Inventory runs on the world’s most popular database, MS SQL 2005 , so as the number of your records grows and the complexity of your business increases, your only constraint will be the limitations of the MS SQL database. In short, it is unlikely that you will outgrow the system because you have to handle too much data!

Can WMSmart scan bar codes?

Yes. WMSmart can scan bar codes in various standard formats. WMSmart is integrated with Radio Frequency (RF) and Batch bar code scanners.

Can WMSmart print bar codes?

Yes. WMSmart can print bar codes in all standard formats.

Can WMSmart work with RFID?

This feature will be available soon.

How secure is WMSmart?

WMSmart Client will run on your local desktop but all authentication information is stored on the Server. We use encryption to protect your information.

Do I need any special computer equipment or software to run WMSmart?

We support all standard Windows operating systems from Windows 2000 through Windows Vista. Please refer to our System requirements page.

What is WMSmart development environment?

WMSmart is developed using Microsoft top tier development platforms. Invenology is an Empower member and an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) business partner of Microsoft. The development team is using state of the art technology and working according to the most updated Microsoft software versions and recommendations. WMSmart supports future platforms and technology like the Longhorn\Vista operating system and the development platform, Visual Studio 2005 (.NET framework 2.0).

Can we write our own reports with WMSmart?

WMSmart reports are written using Crystal Reports. These reports are manifest based applications. However, WMSmart allows the user to manipulate grids, which allow for sorting, filtering, and grouping. This feature allows users to manipulate and produce reports based on their criteria.

How is WMSmart licensed?

WMSmart licensing is based on the version being used, either the stand-alone or network version. Please visit our on-line Online ordering to get the most detailed pricing.

Does WMSmart provide user documentation?

All WMSmart user documentation is provided both on-line and off-line (CHM format), may be printed as required. Help is context-sensitive, fully indexed and contains all the necessary links to navigate to the proper page or topic.


What if we need custom features? Will we be able to upgrade in the future?

Yes, WMSmart unique modular design allows us to add custom features to the standard software without affecting other customers’ use of the product. Most customizations are added to the standard package, minimizing risk and maintenance expenses, and allowing you to take advantage of all WMSmart upgrades and new releases.

I am using the trial version of WMSmart, when I purchase the full version will I have to re-enter any information?

No, your information is safe. Both versions use the same database.

Can I integrate WMSmart with my accounting software?

Yes. WMSmart will be able to synchronize to QuickBooks, MAS 90/200, or we can custom build a synchronization for your particular accounting package quickly and cost effectively. This will allow you to keep your accounting package active and current without actually having to migrate to a new system.

What versions of QuickBooks does WMSmart Inventory integrate with?

WMSmart Inventory will integrate with QuickBooks 2003, 2004 (or later) Pro, Premier and Premier Accountant editions as well as QuickBooks Enterprise Edition.

I’m using QuickBooks and I am facing limitations in the number of items it will handle. Does WMSmart have any such limitations?

WMSmart has no limit to the amount of inventory items it can manage. We use an archiving mechanism for large item’s quantity. The application is using artificial intelligence function to define which items will be archived.

What databases does WMSmart support?

WMSmart requires Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (SQL Express). Please, read System requirements for more information.

Is WMSmart Inventory ODBC compliant?

The MS SQL database is ODBC compliant and therefore can be connected to other ODBC compliant programs, such as Crystal Reports.
