How to Add a New Contact  

There are several ways to add a new contact to the database:

1. Click the Add Contact link located on the Start Page.

2. Click the Add Contact button located at the top of the Contacts window.

3. Or you may click the View All Contacts link and click Add Contact in the opened window.

The Add/Edit Contact window will open. This window allows designating the properties of the new contact. It contains:

 

General Tab

 

Allows storing the names and addresses of your contacts in this list. You need to add each address that you will bill or ship to to this list. Once you have added all the addresses, you can link certain bill to and ship to addresses. 

Red markings indicate fields which must be filled in properly before the contact may be saved.

Business Details

Fill in the Business Details: Name, Initials, Address, City, Zip Code, Country, State/Region, Category, Office Phone, Office Fax & Web Page.

Category selection

Press the  button to select a category for the contact. The next window will open.

Shipping Address

To use the same address as in the Mailing address, check the "Same as Mailing Address" box. 

To use different address, remove the tick mark from the field and then fill in the details: Address, City, Zip Code, Country, State/Region.

Billing Address

To use the same address as in the Mailing address, check the "Same as Mailing Address" box .

Details Tab

This tab is used to set additional contacts details. It also allows adding Alias to the contact.

 

Contact details

Fill in the Contact Details: Contact Name, Profession, Department, Title, Office, Birthday, Assistant Name, Manager Name, Mobile Phone and Contact Email address.    


Aliases (Assumed Names)

To add an alias to a contact, first click the button located at the bottom of the window.

The Add/Edit Alias window will open.     

This window allows designating the properties of the new alias being added to the contact.

Red markings indicate mandatory fields that must be filled in properly before the alias can be saved.   

Fill in the Alias Details: Name, Initials, Contact Name, Address, City, Zip Code, Country, State/Region, Office Phone, Mobile Phone, and Office Fax Number.

 

To set as the Default Name, check the Default box

The Add/Edit Contact window will now include new aliases.

After saving the  Add/Edit Contact page, the new contact will be added to the Contacts window where it will receive a new counter.
