Property Sets allow the user to specify
additional details for an item/product while working with orders (work order,
transfer order, etc.), helping to track
similar characteristics in a variety of products. In this way, they
help the user with sorting, filtering and grouping product
characteristics such as quality, color or size, based on specific information
relevant to a certain category.
Selected properties and values are added to an item category, and become available only for items assigned to this category.
Property
Set
WMSmart permits an unlimited amount of
Property Sets. In addition, a default Property
Set can be defined for working with orders.
A Property Set's name
should allow the user to immediately recognize the characteristic defined by the
set.
Each item category will contain an initial Property Set called “Generic Property Set” that will include three properties:

In the Item Catalog window, select the category to add a sub-category to. To learn how to add a new category, click here.
Property Sets
Add Property
Sets
When you create a new Category, you may add Property Sets for all items that are (or will be) included in this category.
To
add Property Sets click on the
Enter
the appropriate property set name ( e.g. Boeing Property Sets) in the text field
and click
Click Add New Property. The next window will open. Enter any Property Name (Weight is given as an example) or choose it from the drop-down list.
Check Default Property Set box to set this Property set as default one, if necessary. Click OK to add Property Name.
Click OK. A new Property Set is added.
Link to Existing Property
The Link to Existing Property option displays predefined Property options. Instead of adding new property, you may link to existing one.

The next window will open.

Choose the property you want to add and click OK.
A new window displays the available Property values. The Default Property Set checkbox sets the default Property Set for the subcategory. Another value can be added by clicking on Add and selecting Add Property Value. (E.g. Property Set Name "d1" has Property Class: "A, B, C, D, E". Let's add "F").

The next window will open.

Enter necessary Property Value and click OK.
The next window will show that new property value was added.

Click OK to confirm and save the new
Property Sets and Values or choose Cancel to cancel all
changes.
While working with orders, the Properties can be added by clicking on the details field allowing the user to select values from the default Property Set.
